Led by artificial intelligence visionary Dr. Roger Schank, our team of experienced instructional design and facilitation experts have delivered education solutions to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and post-secondary schools for over three decades.

After 35 years as a professor at Stanford and Yale, Schank became frustrated at educational institutions that fail to produce graduates with real skills that they can use to get a job. Out of these frustrations, we built The Schank Experiential Learning Center for you.

  The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day.  - Albert Einstein

Our Mentors

Mentors at The Schank Experiential Learning Center don’t lecture you.  They don’t give you written tests, and they don’t give you grades.  Instead, they are there to do what their title suggests: mentor you.  Their job is to answer questions, point you in the right direction and clarify project goals.

Our team of mentors are all highly qualified, experienced professionals with backgrounds in computer science, technology and engineering.  Some come from academic institutions like Yale and the University of Texas at Austin, and others from the private sector and business in areas such as machine learning and project management.

All are experts in the experiential learning approach we employ at The Schank Experiential Learning Center, and all receive consistently high ratings from program participants.

Over 90% of our graduates are working!*

Here’s some of what they have to say:

“Over the last year, I have been able to take many of the terms, ideas, technology, lessons, etc., that I learned in my class projects and apply them directly to my job in quality analytics.”
“I started off with virtually no knowledge of data mining, predictive analysis or data analytics in general. [Mentors] have led this group very professionally yet being very informal and open. I am certainly learning and enjoying the experience tremendously.”
“My favorite aspect of the Data Analytics and Big Data program is the format. It is designed to get students into the mode of doing data science right from the start with a learn-by- doing format. Instead of wading through textbook readings and listening to lecture after lecture of theory before putting anything into practice, the program gets you working through analysis right away.”
"I found that the way the course was presented worked perfectly for me because I have a full- time job, and I was able to go at my own pace and to have a mentor who helped
me all the way through.”
“It's expanded my knowledge of what Data Analytics is, and how to go about it. This class has also introduced me to new platforms and new languages that I didn't know existed.”  “[Our mentors] know the subject matter of the course inside and out as well as what skills are required of a data professional in the real world, and they can advise you from this perspective with great clarity.”
“I have received every bit and then some of the support I've needed to understand
Data Analytics.”
“I am definitely learning new things and thanks to the mentors for providing valuable feedback on timely manner.”
"You put yourself in the mindset of someone who has to get something done rather than someone who has to remember all this stuff and regurgitate it on a test.
I think that’s really important."
“I've started a new job a few weeks ago (in data analytics!);
I am happy I got to learn Weka and R”
“Thank you for everything. Loved the course. I just landed a new job and
I’m very happy about it!”
